Therefore, at present, display manufacturers introduce the method of burning PowerData to achieve the burning function before panel production. There are two existing burning methods in the industry: 

 

2 Program Burning Methods Commonly Used in LCD Screen

 

Method 1


Before Panel PCB carries on the SMT patch, use the automatic burning equipment to burn the Power Data to the Power IC, and then attach it to the PCB board. 
 

Method 2


First, the Power IC is SMT-bonded to the PCB board, and then each board is burned by Power Data manually. 

However, the first method requires the development of automatic recording equipment, the equipment cost is high, and manpower is needed to place and remove the chip, so the manpower and equipment costs cannot be saved; although the second method does not need to develop expensive automatic recording equipment, manual burning is not only slow but also will be omitted, which has a great impact on production capacity and quality. In order to adapt to mass production, additional manpower is needed. 

 

Program Burning Steps of LCD Screen


The method of burning the power consumption data of the new LCD screen is that the power consumption data and the display function data are compiled into the same software, and then the required software is burned into the flash memory chip, and after the whole machine is assembled, the control chip of the main board sends instructions to the flash memory chip to burn the power data to the panel driver voltage chip. 

The burning method mentioned in this article is also based on IIC (integrated circuit bus) communication mode. The IIC serial bus passes through a bi-directional data line SDA, and the other clock line SCL. 

The specific burning steps are as follows: 

 

Step 1: 

Directly attach the drive voltage chip with a preset initial value of 7 bytes of power consumption data to the panel PCB, and no longer burn the power consumption data of the drive voltage chip before and after fitting, and then carry out the next step of welding, followed by the assembly of the liquid crystal display module. Because the initial value of the power consumption data of 7 bytes is built in when the drive voltage chip leaves the factory, even if the new power consumption data is not burned. It will not affect the basic functions of the panel. 
 

Step 2: 

When the motherboard is assembled, the 7-byte usage data and the display function data are compiled into the same software, and the software is burned into the flash memory chip. 

In the production process of the display motherboard, there is a process of burning software. 

 

Step 3: 

When the whole machine is assembled, 220V AC power is plugged into the display, and the control chip of the motherboard sends instructions to the flash memory chip to read the 7 bytes of power consumption data and the preset 7 bytes power consumption data initial value at the same time. 
 

Step 4: 

The power consumption data of the 7 bytes is compared with the initial value of the preset power consumption data of 7 bytes. If it is different, the power consumption data of the flash memory chip is burned to the drive voltage chip, otherwise the power consumption data of the drive voltage chip remains unchanged. 

Compared with the prior art, this method has the following beneficial effects: 

 

1. Save equipment investment. 


This method does not need to develop additional burning equipment, nor does it buy additional burning equipment, so as to save equipment investment. 
 

2. Save manpower. 


This method does not need artificial operation in production, so there is no need to increase the process of burning electricity data on the production line, thus reducing a lot of labor costs. 
 

3. Improve quality. 


This method reduces the risk of burning omission. The old method is to burn Power IC as an object, but there is a risk of omission in data recording occasionally due to omissions in manual operation or manufacturing process. Moreover, this situation is not easy to find in the later production process, and it is necessary to add stations, invest manpower, and use certain pictures to check. The new method is realized by software. after the machine is powered on, the software automatically judges and operates it, and every time it is plugged in and powered on, it will re-judge whether the data is normal or not, so as to achieve the effect of preventing data Iose and really improve the quality.
